POM POMS IS….

POM POMS POM POMS was born out of the minds of Jessie Payo and Billy Mohler.  Payo and Mohler, both LA natives, came together to produce Payo’s music after a chance meeting in Venice.

Their first song in the outfit was a retro dreamy throwback called “Betty” in 2015.  It was with this band they would incorporate their love for John Waters, The Monks, Blondie, Devo, David Lynch and the Sonics.  When Mohler came up with the band name Pom Poms it was a done deal and they put together a band to debut their live show at The Bowery Ballroom opening up for Kate Nash.

Pom Poms went on to hold many Los Angeles residencies and toured with acts like The Psychedelic Furs and The Mowgli’s.

Their debut album “Turn You Out” released in 2017.  Selections from that record were heard on “Lucifer” “Chicago Fire” “MTV’s Teen Mom” to name a few.  They were in rotation on both 89.9 KCRW and 88.9 KXLU.  Their song “Go Go” was featured in Halsey’s About Face makeup launch campaign.

After a hiatus came back with “Stoned and Lonely” and “Stoned and Lonely” as part of a forthcoming record that mirrors the chaos of the apocalyptic times of now bringing sounds reminiscent of 90’s grunge/punk to their 60’s throwback sound which they plan to release this summer 2023.
